One great asset especially for women is wigs, these work great to hide those freaky hairdo's (hats do okay for you guy's but many places don't want you wearing hats at work unless they have a giant M on them).remember when thinking about those facial piercings, until they heal to the point you can take them in and out it's going to be hard to get a job in most places so be sure think about what you want to be doing for the next few weeks. The same advice goes for tattoos, however with the exception of the face and hands, it's easy to cover them up, although that can get a little hot, luckily many jobs don't care as much about tattoos anyway.
There are ways to keep your look and still be financially successful but it takes a lot of work, you should always shoot for your dreams whether they are to become a famous artist, start your own business, or become important enough to not have to worry about image. A perfect example is the computer field where if you can get the pinks computers to work and stay working you can have a twelve inch mohawk and 666 across your forehead because you've got them by the balls. Until you can achieve your goals it's a blast to have the same old man that called you a 'no good queer freak' last night, call you 'sir' in your best camouflage today!!
It's not selling out to wear a costume in order to make a living. It's when
you turn your back on who you are, decide your "too
old" to continue being an individual, or give up on
improving your situation so that you can lose the
camouflage THAT'S selling out.......
